Design, Build, Fly Contest

In my senior year (2004/05), some friends and I started the first UW DBF team. We went to the contest in Maryland and crashed, but had a good time and learned a lot. After a one-year hiatus, we decided to try again, and this time make it a persistent entry. I took on the role of team leader for the 2006/07 UW DBF team and we went to Tucson for the contest this time. We did really well for a new team: out of 50 teams who submitted a written report, 36 passed the technical inspection, 18 successfully flew a mission and only 7 successfully flew both missions. We were one of those final seven, though our overall place was 14th. We are now starting up the team again for the 2007/08 contest. UW DBF at the contest in Tucson.
